Cookie Policy

Transparent tracking. Secure sessions. Your choice.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use related technologies such as local storage and email pixels. Together they help keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and — only with your consent — measure product usage and provide in-app support.

Your Choices

When you first visit the Selixer app you'll see a consent banner where you can Accept all, Reject non-essential, or open Preferences to choose category by category. Strictly necessary cookies are always on; analytics and support cookies load only if you opt in. Your choice is stored for 180 days, after which we ask again. You can change it any time at Settings → Help → Manage Cookies.

Types of Cookies We Use

Strictly Necessary (always on)

Required for the app to function; these cannot be switched off:

  • Sign-in / session: keep you securely authenticated
  • selixer_cookie_consent: remembers your cookie choices
  • sidebar:state: remembers your sidebar layout
  • pending_invite_token: carries a team invitation through signup

Product Analytics (optional — opt-in)

Provider: PostHog. Helps us understand how the app is used so we can improve it, and includes session replay with all text inputs masked. Set only after you accept this category; turning it off stops capture and clears PostHog identifiers.

Support Chat (optional — opt-in)

Provider: Intercom. Loads the in-app messenger so you can contact our support team. Set only after you accept this category; turning it off shuts the messenger down.

Third-Party Cookies

The optional categories are powered by:

  • PostHog — product analytics and session replay
  • Intercom — in-app support chat

These providers process data as described on our Subprocessors page and under their own privacy policies. Strictly necessary cookies are first-party (set by Selixer).

How to Manage Cookies

In the app

  1. Open Settings → Help → Manage Cookies
  2. Toggle the Analytics and Support categories
  3. Save

Shown on your first visit (and again after 180 days, or whenever we change our cookie categories). Choose Accept all, Reject non-essential, or customise via Preferences.

Browser settings

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser, though disabling strictly-necessary cookies may break parts of the app.

Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies
Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security
Safari: Settings > Privacy
Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions

Email Tracking Pixels

Marketing emails you send through Selixer — and some service emails we send you — may contain a small invisible image ("pixel") that records opens and clicks so engagement can be measured. You can block these by disabling image loading in your email client. Every marketing email also includes a one-click unsubscribe link.

Do Not Track (DNT) Signals

There is no industry consensus on how to interpret browser "Do Not Track" signals, so we do not currently respond to them. You can control all non-essential cookies using the consent controls described above.

Local Storage

We use HTML5 local storage (e.g. for PostHog, when enabled, and for caching) to improve performance. You can clear it through your browser settings.

Changes

We may update this Cookie Policy as our practices evolve. Material changes — such as adding a cookie category or provider — re-trigger the consent banner so you can review your choices. Questions: dpo@akaame.com.

Acknowledgment

By using our platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this cookie policy in its entirety.
